LAKE  PUPUKE  PROMENADE

Lake Pupuke & Milford    Sun 5 May

The route included part of the Milford coastal track and the Lake Pupuke shoreline track from Henderson Park to Milford Primary School. 26 adults and 5 children came on the walk.

We met at the Henderson Park carpark.  From here we crossed Kitchener Road and descended to the Milford coastal track via the Audrey Lane footpath.  The route then followed Ocean View Rd, Kitchener Rd, and Sylvan Park Ave into Sylvan Park.  We then followed the Lake Pupuke shoreline track to Milford Primary School, where we had afternoon tea at the lake shore.

Ted Calvert gave a devotional talk on the essential ingredients for a Christian life. He spoke on the importance of realising that at times life in the kingdom needs more than one ingredient to make it work, same as baking a scone is not possible with a single ingredient. I suggested that entering the kingdom needed 2 ingredients - Grace and faith. And success in the Christian life also needed two indwelling of the Christ and the indwelling of His word. John 15: 7

We then returned to Henderson Park via the lake shoreline track.  Total track length was approx. 4.5 kms.  Including breaks & delays, total time was approx 2.5 hours.
